Qualifying exterior doors can earn a credit of 30% of the purchase price, excluding installation costs, up to $1500. This credit is only offered to homeowners for improvements to an existing primary residence.

Qualifying BHI Products
Systems purchased after June 1, 2009 must be rated .30/.30 or lower (U-value=energy loss / SHGC=solar heat gain). Systems purchased before June 1, 2009 must be Energy Star qualified.

Claiming the Tax Credit (Homeowners)

1. Purchase a qualifying product.
2. Doors must be placed in service from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010
3. File tax form 5695.
4. Retain the Manufacturer Certification Statement and all sales receipts with your tax records.
