Qualifying exterior doors can earn a credit of 30% of the purchase price, excluding installation costs, up to $1500. This credit is only offered to homeowners for improvements to an existing primary residence.
Qualifying BHI Products Systems purchased after June 1, 2009 must be rated .30/.30 or lower (U-value=energy loss / SHGC=solar heat gain). Systems purchased before June 1, 2009 must be Energy Star qualified.

Claiming the Tax Credit (Homeowners)
- Purchase a qualifying product.
- Doors must be placed in service from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010
- File tax form 5695.
- Retain the Manufacturer Certification Statement and all sales receipts with your tax records.
